This theater is the best theater in Central Jersey as it is a real performing
arts theater
not a typical high school auditorium. It can be compared to McCarter
Theater in Princeton.
We are so excited about this upgrade in venues.
Our dancers deserve only the best!
We are known for our great shows. Our recitals are not average, dance recitals that go on and on.
It is set like a Broadway Show. Every year for 10 years we have had
standing ovations.
We receive nothing but compliments! We know you will enjoy this year's
performance
"Simply the Best" as much as all the others. Be generous with

2009 RECITAL INFO:

Recital dates are June 14th
(dress rehearsal) and 20th (show day) 2009 at Bordentown High School.
Shows are 12 noon and 6pm on June 20th. They run about 2 1/2 hours.
ALL STUDENTS MUST PARTICIPATE IN BOTH SHOWS! Let's make this the year that
everyone keeps their commitment to dance!
The only exception is our Pre-schoolers. Participation in both shows is
best, but if two shows are too much for
them, one can be chosen, we just need to decide that ahead of time so there are
enough kids to do the dance.
*DANCERS MAY NOT LEAVE BACKSTAGE FOR ANY REASON
UNTIL THE SHOW IS OVER. NO DANCERS ARE ALLOWED IN THE AUDIENCE AT ANY
TIME. A PARENT MUST PICK YOU UP BACKSTAGE.
Dress rehearsal:
1:00pm SHARP
- We start with the finale. We may do it twice.
1:25 pm
- We begin with dance #1 and run
through the show. When you have finished your last dance, you can leave or
watch from the audience.
5:00pm
- Around this time we will be finished with rehearsal. Take all belongings home
with you. Do not make a lot of garbage, take it home. No food or
drink in the theater except for water. EVERYONE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR
OWN CHILDREN DURING DRESS REHEARSAL. NO ONE UNDER 13 CAN BE WITHOUT A PARENT
AT ANYTIME. NO ONE IS ALLOWED BACKSTAGE EXCEPT THE DANCERS AND 1 CHAPERONE
OVER 18 YEARS OF AGE.
Show Day:
10:45am - ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 11:00am. Flowers
can be purchased at this time. Make-up should be put on at home.
Hair should be done. Pre-schoolers do not have to arrive this early, we
will go over everything in class. Pre-schoolers need a parent backstage with
them at all times. Sign in and go to your dressing area, teachers and
backstage managers will help you.
NO ONE IS ALLOWED BACKSTAGE EXCEPT
THE DANCERS AND 1 CHAPERONE OVER 18. IF YOU DID NOT SIGN UP TO BE A BACKSTAGE
MOM, YOU DROP OFF, YOU CANNOT GO BACKSTAGE. NO MEN ALLOWED BACKSTAGE.
11:30am -
Classes begin to line up for the show.
12:00pm - The
show begins!
1:10pm or so -
Intermission. Flowers can be purchased at this time.
2:15pm
or so - Show is over.
Dancers will be brought out by the theatre entrance and dismissed only when a
parent is seen. NO ONE GOES BACKSTAGE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES FOR SAFETY
REASONS, AND NO DANCER UNDER 13 LEAVES WITHOUT A PARENT. The building
closes and everyone must leave. All belongings can be left in the building,
but keep important items with you. Do not bring chairs and tents for
outside, leave
school property and come back.
5:20 SHARP -
Dancers and backstage parents arrive back at the theater. Hair and make-up
should be fixed. This show is taped. Pre-schoolers do not have to
arrive this early, we will go over everything in class. Pre-schoolers need a
parent backstage with them at all times. Sign in and go to your dressing
area, teachers and backstage managers will help you.
NO ONE IS ALLOWED BACKSTAGE
EXCEPT THE DANCERS AND 1 CHAPERONE OVER 18. IF YOU DID NOT SIGN UP TO BE A

Show is over. Dancers will be brought out by the theater entrance and

PARENT. Take everything with you when you leave. LEAVE NO GARBAGE,
BOTTLES, CLOTHES ETC. ANYWHERE IN THE BUILDING. TAKE MOST GARBAGE WITH YOU.
LET'S BE THE NEATEST SCHOOL THEY HAVE EVER SEEN.
9:00PM - Tell
your dancers what a great job they did and how much you liked their performance!
Tickets go on sale June 8, $15
(Toddlers on a lap are free)
Tickets at the door are $20.
HAIR, MAKE-UP
AND TIGHTS:
Pre-schoolers only: High, neat ponytail with curls. Use hair spray and add
a hair piece if needed. Blush, lipstick and eye shadow is the minimum
make-up requirement. Glitter is also fun for the Pre-schoolers and is available
at the studio.
EVERYONE ELSE: A neat, low bun parted on the left side.
Around the bun, use a scrunchie with hair attached.
Everyone will wear special stage earrings and a clip that sparkle in the lights!
Clip-ons and pierced are available. $10 earrings / $5 clip (If you have them
from last year, use them again)
False lashes should be worn by everyone 12 years old and up (unless they are
really uncomfortable with it). 11 and under is optional. $4 for lashes, $3 for adhesive
at the studio.
If you choose to purchase your earrings and clips elsewhere, make sure they are
the same as what we are selling so everyone matches. All items are available now
for purchase. If you think you have these items at home, bring them in to
check if they are ok.
*Make-up must include: blush, blue eye shadow, hot pink or red lipstick,
mascara, eye liner and glitter. Check
the foyer for more details.

Tights must be Capezio or Danskin, both available at the studio.
Check your child's costume picture in the hall for colors needed.
SHOW RULES!!!
DANCERS:
Everything needs to be labeled, costumes, tights, shoes etc. Dancers need to be
polite, neat and quiet. They need to listen to the backstage moms and stage
managers at ALL TIMES. They may NOT leave the backstage dressing area. There is
NO ROAMING allowed at all.
THERE WILL BE NO GRAFFITI OR VANDALISM or you will be asked to leave
immediately! (Whether it is the middle of the show or not.)
BRING AN INSULATED BAG FOR YOUR SNACKS AND DRINKS AND TAKE THE BOTTLES AND
CONTAINERS HOME!
BACKSTAGE MOMS:
Keep count of all kids at all times! Keep drinks and snacks that stain out of
their hands!!!! DO NOT LET THEM LEAVE THE BACKSTAGE ALONE UNDER ANY
CIRCUMSTANCE! Make sure everything is labeled, all tights, shoes, costumes, bags
etc. Keep track of who changes when to make sure they are ready.
DROP OFF MOMS:
Send your dancer with snacks that DON'T STAIN and water, NO COLORED JUICE
OR SODA. Send a
small snack for the whole class please. Send them with books or something quiet
and non-messy to do. FOR SAFETY REASONS, NO ONE IS ALLOWED BACKSTAGE. WHEN
DROPPING OFF YOUR DANCER, BRING THEM TO THE DOOR, SIGN THEM IN AND GO FIND YOUR
SEAT.
AUDIENCE:
NO CAMERAS OF ANY KIND ALLOWED IN THE THEATER! The lights and
flashes from a camera are blinding when on stage. The dancers get very
distracted and it hurts their eyes. Please watch and enjoy the show
without making the performers distracted or upset. Do not scream out names of
dancers. It is distracting to the dancers and not fair to everyone.
Lots of applause and cheering is what they all want and need. No food or drinks in the
theatre except for water. Every other dance school leaves theaters a huge
mess, let's make sure we do not.
Some things you may want to pack:
-aspirin -towels -water -blankets -pillow -band aids -bobby pins -safety pins
-needle and thread -ice packs -extra tights -change of clothes for after the
shows -money -snacks or lunch -hair spray or gel -glitter -scissors -first aid
kit -anything else you may need. Pick up a recital reminder sheet at the
studio.
